Start over?

You have files you have not downloaded yet. They will be cleared from this page.

This PDF has a password

The file is unlocked on this device. Your password is never sent anywhere. The smaller file keeps the same password.

How do I compress a PDF without uploading it?

To compress a PDF without uploading it, open FilesAll's Compress PDF, add your PDF and press Compress. FilesAll shrinks the pictures inside and removes data the document does not need, then shows the size before and after. It all runs in your browser on your own device, and the text stays sharp and selectable.

How to compress a PDF in 3 steps

  1. Add your PDF

Press Choose files, or drag your PDF onto the page. You can add several PDFs at once.

  2. Press Compress

The Balanced setting is picked for you. It makes most PDFs much smaller with no change you can see.

  3. Download the smaller PDF

Check the new size, then press Download. Your original file is not changed.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?

It depends on what is inside. PDFs made from scans or photos often shrink a lot. A PDF that is mostly text is already small and may only shrink a little. FilesAll shows the size before and after.

Will the text still be readable?

Yes. Text stays sharp and you can still select and search it. Compression works mainly on the pictures inside the PDF.

What if my PDF has a password?

FilesAll asks for the password and unlocks the file on your device. The password is never sent anywhere.

What if the PDF can't get any smaller?

If compressing would not save space, FilesAll keeps your original file and tells you. You never get back a file that is larger.

Is FilesAll free?

Yes. You can use FilesAll free every day without signing up, and the tool shows how many free files you have left today. A free account gives you more each day, and Pro removes the daily limit.

Do I need to install anything?

No. FilesAll works in the web browser you already have, on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone and Android. There is nothing to install, and you do not need an account to start.

Are my files uploaded?

No. FilesAll does all the work inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to our servers or anyone else's, and they disappear when you close the tab.

Want to check for yourself? Your browser's developer tools list every request this page makes. None of them carries your file.
